- The Road: Nima Lodge is a rural lodge with a 2km dirt road and 2km concrete, stripped single track road. Because of our location, we build and maintain the road ourselves. If you are not well acquainted with these types of roads, we suggest a higher clearance car. That said, ALL cars can manage the road, a 4x4 / SUV is not needed.
- Any breakages, stains or damage to the cabin during a guests stay will be charged to their final account.
- Due to Nima Lodge's location the Wifi signal can be low, due to weather and issues with the Wifi provider. We have tried many options and companies, however this is the case for now. We embrace it and see it as a way to connect through disconnecting.
- Due to the age and location of the Sun Cabins, the electricity may trip and hot water may run out, please call someone - we can help!
- Wilderness is a water restrictive area and water restrictions can and will be put in place at any time.
- If the remainder of payment is not made 2 days after checkout, Nima Lodge reserves the right to charge the card on file.
- Nima Lodge is located on top of a hill and the Sun Cabins require the use of stairs. Please let us know if mobility is an issue and we will place you in the appropriate cabin.
- Drones are not to be flown over any other cabins, the main house, our neighbours property nor the National Park. To do so is a legal offence.

You can reach Nima Lodge with any car (a SUV or 4x4 is not necessary). You'd be surprised at the cars we've seen coming over our hill! Once you turn off the tarred road, there's 2km on the historic Seven Passes dirt road, followed by a turn onto our road, Tien Myl Laan. This road has concrete laid in most places. Because of our location, we build and maintain the road ourselves. The road is steep in places, so just go slow, breathe and we will see you on the other side
Breakfast baskets are available and delivered to your cabin at 9am. Please let us know by 3pm the day before if you’d like to add breakfast or cancel your breakfast order.
Breakfast includes:Quiche or croissants or breadsticks, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, boiled eggs, condiments, fruit juice and milk.

Our shop and the drinks provided in your room, work on an honesty system. Take what you’d like by filling in the form provided in the leather folder in your cabin.
On checkout, we’ll add this to your bill. We will tally your shop sheet at the end of your stay and add it to your final pay link.
We offer basics such as chocolate and olive oil as well as a curated fridge of beer, wine, gin and tonics and non-alcoholic drinks such as kombucha and sodas.Â
The shop is open 24/7.
To turn on the fireplace, there is a control panel on the top. Press and hold the on/off button.
Please give it time to warm up and do not change the temperature settings.
The pellets are in the compartment on the top, you can just flip the lid open. If you notice the pellets running low, please message us so we can come and top them up for you.
LOAD SHEDDING: The fire place will alarm at the start of load shedding. Please press and hold the on/off button to turn the fire place off. It then needs time to cool down. When you hear that the cooling function has ended, you may restart the fire place.
Wood and fire lighters are provided for the fire place.
Additional wood can be purchased at R75 per crate at our shop. This can also be requested to be delivered to your cabin.
The wood-fired tubs use 1500L to fill. We have installed filters to minimise water usage. Please DO NOT put soap or any thing else in the water.
Please note that these take around 2 hours to heat.
All of our hot tubs are fitted with a Carbo wood stove and heat in the same way.
Directions:
- Keep the blue cover on during heating process
- To make a fire, open the lid of the metal compartment completely.
- Use firelighters and small kindling to start you fire at the bottom of the stove.
- Add larger pieces of wood over time to create a strong fire.
- Put the lid on to cover the fire, while leaving a 30 mm (1 inch) gap on the right to allow air flow.
- When the fire is strong enough, you can fill the stove with wood.
- Keep the lid on, with the 30 mm (1 inch) air vent open.
- Each time you open the lid to add more wood, please do not place the lid on the plastic of the hot tub - it will melt it.
- Be careful of the hot edges of the stove
- Keep feeding the fire so that it remains hot.
- After two hours remove the blue tarp and enjoy the water!
- From this point, keep a small fire going. Only add one or two pieces of wood at a time - do not keep the fire burning strongly for too long as the water will become too hot.
- We suggest stopping the fire when the water is hot enough, the stove will remain hot and keep the water warm for a long time.
- When you are finished, keep the blue tarp on as it may even keep the water warm until the next morning!
